How to Take Care of CPAP Tubing

To ensure safe breathing when sleeping, pay attention to the cleanliness of your CPAP machine, mask and accessories.

Clean tubing at least once in a week. For outside surfaces, choose warm water and liquid soap without essential oils and fragrances.

Use running water to clean the tubing inside. If you see some dirt or dust inside the tubing, wash it carefully using a tiny bottle brush. Do not cut through the fragile tubing material between the coils.

Once you finish with cleaning, rinse the tubing properly and let it air dry.

Replace CPAP apnea tubes once in a year, or more often, if some visible damages are spotted. You should know that tiny holes tend to appear inside the tubing after a while, and this may lead to worsened air delivery and inadequate pressure.
